In the summer of '25, I would go to take a 6 day trip with my mom and brother, from August 5th, through August 10th, 2025. During this trip I would have the privilage of visiting California's Great America, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, and I would get to see the sights and sounds of San Francisco.
On the morning of August 5th, 2025, my mom, my brother, and I would wake up early to fly to San Jose, California, to begin our 6 day trip to the Bay Area. Our flight would take us from Cleveland, to Salt Lake City, and finally landing in San Jose in the early afternoon. Our layover in Salt Lake City was the right lenght, enough time for lunch before flying off to San Jose. The flights were easy, and the WiFi on the plane was strong enough to do my final essays and play Minecraft Bedwars while flying. Landing in San Jose, it was a breeze to get out of the airport, and checking into our hotel was a breeze.
Tha Marriot we stayed at used to be a Howard Johnson, which after learning that made so much sense. The hotel also had some good food options near by, which was good to know. After checking in, we took a nap and followed the nap with an afternoon at California's Great America. You can read more about CGA on its dedicated trip page. After CGA, we would wind up going to Whole Foods for dinner, as we wanted something that was not Fast Food for dinner. We then went to bed for the night. Wednesday August 6th, we went back to CGA, and had a good time at the park. Again, you can read more about it on the CGA page. Following our day at CGA, we went to this Indian Mexican fusion place, and it was really good. After dinner, we would pack and get ready for our check out, as we would be heading to Vallejo California for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
Thursday would drive to Vallejo, leaving at 9am for our hotel nearby. We would only be spending one night at this hotel, so it wasn't a high priority in terms of quality, but it was nice. We made it at 10:30, and they were willing to hold our bags so we could have our day at Six Flags. Following check-in, we would head to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom for the day. More about Discovery Kingdom can be found on the SFDK page. Following our day at the park, we would head to In-N-Out for dinner, and it was...ok. For my first time, I found that it was a little overhyped. We would return to our hotel, and head to bed, as the next day we were heading to San Francisco.
Friday and Saturday would be spent in San Francisco, seeing the many sights and sounds of the city. More can be found on the San Francisco page below. Sunday we would fly back to Cleveland out of San Jose, which for context is only an hour drive from San Francisco. Our trip was flying from San Jose, to Atlanta, back to Cle. The flight to Atlanta was smooth, and easy. Our layover in Atlanta was easy too, as it was early enough to still get dinner. Our flight to Cle was smooth as well, just rather late. We wouldn't get home until 12am.
This trip was very enjoyable, and seeing San Francisco with my mom and brother was a fun experience to end the summer. For more indepth descriptions of the trip, click the links below and take a look.
