California's Great America

I got the opportunity to visit California's Great America in August of 2025. This trip was planned to visit the park before it closed, which it is expected to by 2030. I went with my mom, and brother, and we spent 1.5 days at the park, between August 5th and 6th, 2025.

Located just by the San Jose airport, its also next to the 49ers Stadium, and it is a decent sized park. On our first day, we rode RailBlazer, CGA's RMC Single Rail, Grizzly, Flight Deck, Tiki Twirl, Drop Tower, Berserker, Sky Tower, Enterprize, and we also did a little shopping. Day two, we rode all of those again, plus Psychomouse, Gold Striker, and Patriot.

The park was nice, but it could use some improvements. I doubt much will change since the park is not much longer for this world. I did not like the corner of the park Flight Deck was in, it felt...abandoned. The merch locations could have had better stock, but I doubt much will change as again, the park will close by 2030.

Now, the Coasters. I will be ranking these from best to worst.

The best is RailBlazer, their Rocky Mountain Construction Single Rail. It is absolutely insane in the back, and I felt like I might die. While it is low capacity, and shuffles on the track a little, it is easily the best "small" coaster I have been on. 9/10.

Second Place is Flight Deck. Super Smooth B&M invert, forceful, and really fun. The second half isn't really visible from the park, yet it is such a fun surprise. 8/10.

Third is PsychoMouse. Fun Arrow Dynamics Wild Mouse, super smooth and enjoyable. I wish the park ran it more efficiently, however it was really fun to ride. 8/10.

Fourth is Patriot. B&M Standup to Sitdown conversion, not very thrilling of a layout, but its smooth. 5/10.

Fifth is Demon. Janky old Arrow looper, but it was super enjoyable to ride such an Arrow. not much to write home about. 5/10.

Sixth is Grizzly. Boring mirrored layout of the Grizzly at Kings Dominion. Not much fun. Also weird trains from Morgan. 4/10.

Last is..Gold Rusher. It has potential, but its not good. Being a GCI, I had high hopes for this ride. Its layout looks soooooooo good on paper, yet it was super janky and rough at the same time. I really wanted to like this ride, but I couldn't. 3/10.

Overall the park was fun to visit, and I am glad I got to go to this Six Flags park before it closes for good in the next couple of years. I hope I could maybe visit again beforehand, but if I don't I am glad I got to go when I did.

I've attached some photos below from the trip. To see the full image, open them in a new tab.
