Summer is the prime time to make visits to amusement parks across the US. When Silver Dollar City announces the closure of Thunderation at the end of the 2026 season, and with Six Flags selling Six Flags St. Louis to Enchanted Parks, we had one last chance to make visits before the changes became finalized. Luke, Josh, Caroline, Ronan, and I decided to make a westward trek in search of credits from July 12th, to July 17th, 2026.
After work on Sunday, Caroline, Ronan, and I left Sandusky for Dayton, to meet with Luke and Josh before heading to St. Louis. To kill the time, we decided to make the Gas Station Trifecta Meal, and went to Scene 75 to ride Tsunami, before meeting with Luke.
Monday we woke up and went to Tudor's Biscut World for breakfast, before making the 7 hour drive to Six Flags St. Louis. We made it by 4pm, and had a amazing afternoon. We rode everything multiple times, Including The Boss, and Mr Freeze Reverse Blast.
Tuesday morning we made the 3 hour drive to Silver Dollar City for our two days there, making it in just after noon. Over the two days, we would ride every coaster at least once, with most having multiple rerides. My favorite part of the park was the free Marvel Cave Tour, even if it was cut short due to bad weather.
On Thursday, on our way home to Sandusky, we made the stop at the top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. The views from the top were incredible, and the impressive architecture of the arch was incredible to see up close. After, we continued home to Sandusky, as the air quality slowly dropped from the wildfires.
