Six Flags Over Georgia/Fun Spot Atlanta

For saying I would give it a few years before making a return, I somehow find myself on my third visit to Six Flags Over Georgia, with my most recent visit being during my Southern Thaw trip on March 28th, 2026. SFoG would wind up being the first park of 4 during our trip. After SFoG, we would make the 35 minute drive to Fun Spot Atlanta to ride ArieForce One, Sea Serpent, and Hurricane.

Starting our day at Six Flags Over Georgia, we had a smooth time getting into the park. We started with Twisted Cyclone, followed by Georgia Scorcher. Taylor and Gavin are not fans of the standups. We wanted to follow up with Superman, but it hadn't opened yet so we rode Justice League, and that was a really fun dark ride.

We rode Great American Scream Machine before we finally got to ride Superman. Superman was Taylor's first flying coaster, and they thoroughly enjoyed it, and I do not believe they expected how intense the pretzel loop was going to be. We went to go ride Monster Mansion, which I think is the best dark ride in the entire Six Flags chain. Taylor loved the animatronics, and I loved the newer effects that were installed during the off season. After a ride on Monstet Mansion, we would take a nice lunch break.

After lunch, we would finally do my favorite ride, Goliath. We waited a little bit, but we ran into Taylor's Friend Biff on the ride. While we only got one ride on Goliath, it quickly showed itself to both Taylor and Gavin why I think it's the best hyper in the US. We would follow our ride on Goliath with Riddler's Mindbender. Taylor and Gavin got to ride in the very front, and behind me was a girl who was absolutely freaking out the entire time. Gavin really liked Mindbender, especially for how smooth it was.

Batman was next, and we would get a back row ride on Batman. After our ride on Batman, we would need Dare Devil Dive, Dahlonega Mine Train, and Blue Hawk (if it actually opened.) Georgia Goldrusher hadn't finished its off season work, and sadly wasn't open during our visit. Dare Devil Dive had been closed for most of the day, but we got lucky after Batman as it finally reopened. This was Taylor and Gavin's first Gerstlauer, and it was a fun but wierd layout. I personally don't mind it, but it is ok.

Dahlonega Mine Train was the last coaster of the day at SFoG, before we left we took one more lap on Monster Mansion before heading to Fun Spot Atlanta. They changed the load station for this year, removing the need to go up and over the load and unload station. It is much more effecient and easy now.

Fun Spot Atlanta was lively when we got there. We rode Sea Serpent first, which was the parks kiddie coaster. I rode Hurricane, while Taylor and Gavin got pictures of ArieForce One in the setting sun. We would only ride 4 times, as it was busy and we had to get off and go around each time, and would just barely miss the gates. After FSA, we would drive to Carowinds. Both parks were really fun, and rather well ran during our visits. My only complaint was that ArieForce was only running one train, but the second one was undergoing refurb.
