My Thoughts - July 2026

Oh boy the heat is killing me.

Its been near 90 every day, and I have been invited to suffer at Shores. the back to back 12 hr shifts have been brutal. The learning has been fun, and I am having a good time. I did see Mrs O today! She was so proud to see me as a Supervisor.

I'm off tomorrow, and I plan to take some time to get my room ready for my new bed, and also continue to get transcripts made for my legacy blog section. Fun times ahead for sure.

I have finished archiving the 2020 vlogs and have put the transcripts onto the site. You can check out the work HERE.

While I have been transcribing the vlogs for the site, I have begun to realize that I was incredibly weird in highschool. It is a wonder how I did not become the next Chris Chan. Although as I have been rewatching or reading what I said 5+ years ago, it makes me realize how different my life was, yet how similar, it is to my current day. Also being blasted back into COVID times by revisiting the vlogs is crazy, there is so much that I forgot about that I am nostolgic to remember now.

My plan is to work on the vlogs as they come in, and I will release entire years at once. I also might redo the blog years page, idk if I want it to be newest year first or oldest year first.

Today is America 250! I worked this morning until 4, and I got to spend the evening with Nate and thier coworkers. Cedar Point did a skydiving show today, and fireworks! I got a really cool picture of Magnum XL-200 during the one skydiving show, and I think its my best photography work yet. Seeing Cedar Point all decked out for such a big day was super cool. The fireworks all around Sandusky from Cedar Point was also very cool.

Here's too another 250 years of freedom!

Rain, broken elevators, and getting sent home early. What a way to start my Sunday. It rained all morning, so they sent me home at 1pm. I am gonna work on the 2021 blog posts until my dad gets here for dinner. Fun times ahead.

Yesterday's dinner at Bay Harbor was really good! I had the Seafood Delight Pasta, and it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Steph also had the pasta, and she agreed it was really good. Nate and Dad had the steak, and I tried a bite of Dad's and it was very good. The restaurant was very nice, and I liked the decor and the windows overlooking the marina.

I also finally got all the parts needed to build my new bed yesterday! I built it with Dad and Steph, and it looks very good. I like how it currently sits in the room, but I may change the layout tomorrow during my day off.

New Bed

I close Shores today. I doubt I'll be out late, since it's going to be slow today. The rain yesterday has kept people away. The rain we're due to have today will continue to keep people away. It'll be fun.

Rain and showers bring...an early close at Cedar Point Shores. We closed yesterday at 1:20pm. I could have done better, my Co-Sup Tash made a list of my mistakes, but I am still learning afterall. The rain was very storng, and kinda scary. After the park was emptied of guests, Kayln and I did some work that needed done before I went home early. Several guests came up to us when we were leaving the park, asking if Shores would reopen. Sadly, we would not be opening the park again for the day.

I am still learning how to be a Supervisor. I keep making mistakes and asking questions that I feel are dumb and basic. My Co-Sups keep telling me I am learning, and its only my first week, but I disagree, I should be the best, and I should be better by now. I also miss my old area. I know its only been a week, but I miss Jaden and Madison, along with my associates. It is an adjustment for sure, but I am learning a lot by being in the waterpark.

I also have been missing some of my friends recently. I haven't seen Rhys since last year, and I haven't seen Alexis since the semester ended. While I haven't seen Taylor in about a month, our friendship isn't as good as it used to be. The disance is my fault. I made choiced that ultamitly hurt the bond I had with my friends. I'm off on my own path, in a town where most people aren't from here. I have firends out here, such as Kaylee, or Caroline, or Ronan, but they won't be here forever. Kaylee is moving to Colorado in the near future, and I will miss her. She's a good friend to have around and it sucks that our shifts never lined up when I was in A1, and now I am at Shores. I hope that we can hang out on a day when neither of us work. Caroline and Ronan, while they'll be here during the winter, will leave once we graduate in the spring. Audrey is most likely moving as well, and I just feel like I don't truly have any friends in Sandusky except for Nate. What sucks even more is the feeling of being alone is made worse during the winter, when there isn't as much to do in Sandusky.
