January 3rd, 1976 was the day my Grandmother and Grandfather on my Dad's side would officially get married. 50 years later, they have 3 sons, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Over the many years they have been together they have made many memories, and are the reason my family exists today.
About a year ago we asked my grandparents what they wanted to do for their 50th. After some time, they decided that they wanted to celebrate by having the whole family get together to celebrate in the country side. After a little bit of planning, we settled on a farm house in the Mohican Valley region in mid Ohio.
We would leave for the house at 2pm and I got there at 3:30. The resident barn cats came up to greet us, and they were super friendly. Thurday evening was just my grandparents, uncle, Dad and I. We got dinner and spent the evening relaxing.
My cousins and brother would make it down by 4:30, and we would all have a fun evening playing games, having tacos, and talking with my aunt and uncle with me about college by the campfire.
After lunch I took a long nap, since I didn't sleep well the night before. Since it was raining, we played games inside all day, and all hung out. I sat on the covered porch for a bit with the cats.
The trip was the first time in a long time I got to see so much of my dad's side of the family. I hadn't seen my cousins since before Christmas, and with all my work and school I hadn't seen my grandparents. This trip fixed both of those issues. We all had so much fun, and I am so glad the trip worked out for everyone.
