Boston, Massachusetts

June 8th-10th, 2026

After a solid 1.5 days at Six Flags New England, and Canobie Lake Park, we would travel into Boston to see its many sights and sounds. Neither Nathan nor I had ever been to Boston, and we were very excited to see some of its historic sites that date back to the American Revolution.

After a long day at Canobie Lake Park, we would make the hour drive to our hotel in Boston, to meet up with Abhi. The drive into Boston was smooth, since it was the late afternoon. Once we met up with Abhi at the hotel, we decided to go into the city and get dinner.

The line for Untamed was about 30 minutes. It didn't help it only had 2 trains, and each train only sat 8 people. The ride looked really fun, especially for a tiny eurofighter. What it lacked, however, was a smooth layout. We hit our heads a few times on the restraints. To recover, we followed with a lap on Time Winder, their Zamperla Nebulaz, which had a walk on wait.

Canobie Lake also had the oldest roller coaster of the trip, Yankee Cannonball. It originally opened at Canobie in 1936, making it 90 when we rode it. While it can only run one train, it makes up for its low capacity with buzz bars. Yankee Cannonball is really smooth for its age, and the layout was a lot of fun.

By the time we got off, it was a little past noon, so we decided to take a small break to grab some lunch.

The nice thing about Canobie Lake Park is that it is located on the shores of Canobie Lake. Another advantage of being located on the lake, is that the park has a Lake Cruise that takes about 20 minutes. It was a nice, relaxing break after having lunch.

While we were on the boat, I met some members of the Roller Coaster Club of Great Britian. They were on a big tour visiting many parks around the US, including Cedar Point. We talked for some time while we took our cruise, talking about the many different parks we had been to.

After our trip on the lake, Mom wanted to ride their skyride. Their skyride doesn't go anywhere, its just a simple loop over the park, but it did give some nice views of the surrounding parks.

We deciced to ride Starblaster afterwards, when we learned that it was one of the rarer S&S Double Shot towers. They're really unique because not only do you launch to the top, once you get up there it launches you down. Power Tower at Cedar Point is a mix of 2 Space Shots and 2 Turbo Drops, for comparison.

We waited 3 cycles to ride, and by complete chance I sat next to the same people from the cruise. They also had never ridden a Double Shot, so we were all very excited. The ride is actually pretty fun, giving ejector air at the top, and some strong positives during the bounce. Mom and Nathan agreed that they should make the Space Shot sides of Power Tower into the Double Shot.

Mom and Nathan wanted to ride the Giant Wheel afterwards, so we decided we should before the park closed at 4.
Starblaster
The views from Giant Wheel were relaxing. We could see the whole park from the top. We saw the Mine of Lost Souls had no line, so we decided to walk over and ride that next. The Mine of Lost Souls is a trip through the mines of new england, and for some reason it takes you to Egypt. Ride is a prime example of why I love small park dark rides.

We got ice cream after, and decided to end our day with a reride on Yankee Cannonball, and closing the day on the 1903 carousel.
Superman: The Ride

If you have ever been to Waldameer in Erie, PA, Canobie Lake Park will remind you a lot of it. I put Canobie Lake above Waldameer, since it has a better layout, better vibes, and you can take a lake cruise in the park. The flat rides are all classics, the coasters are great for the park, and they have RTC 2 style food stands. I think if the park had 1-2 additional coasters, it would be perfect. For day two of our trip it was a good stop, and off we went to Boston.
