Kings Island is the second closest park to me, being about 4 hours drive from me, so I usually wind up going 2-3 times a year. Usually, those visits are opening day and closing day, but this summer I managed to throw in a visit just after my Bay Area '25 trip, on Tuesday August 12th.
To begin my day, I would drive from Sandusky all the way to Taylor's house. We would then carpool together down the rest of the way to Kings Island. We would get there just after open, and we would go stright to Flight Of Fear, the parks indoor coaster. FoF is my favorite coaster here at Kings Island, and with the last two rides being the clones at SFA and KD, I was thrilled to ride it again. Following we took a lap on Orion, which is always a pleasure to ride a B&M Giga coaster. Following we would do the Antique Autos and Queen City Stunt coaster, which was a nice combo before lunch.
We would take a lunch break at Brewhouse, which was nice. We got the sliders and tots, which were good. The break in the AC was also ideal, because the heat was a lot, reaching 90f. Following we would take a ride on Boo Blasters, which was closing at the end of the month to make way for Phantom Theatre. The AC inside of this darkride shooter was also soothing. I lost to Taylor, but I enjoyed taking one last ride on Boo Blasters before its eventual closure. Following, we took a ride on the Grand Carousel, which predates Kings Island. It originally operated at Coney Island, before the park relocated to Kings Island for its opening in 1972. Following Grand Carousel, we would ride Racer and Scrambler, seeing Tyler operating Scrambler was cool. We would take what we would later realize was our last ride of the day on Adventure Express, the park's Arrow minetrain. After, we would go over and meet up with Abi and Josh, and than seek shelter as a big rain storm came in.
After the rain passed, we would all take some time to browse the various shops around Kings Island. While we walked around though, Taylor would fall ill, caused by a mixture of them recovering from a stomach bug from the previous weekend, and the heat too probably contributed to it as well. We would leave, and head back to their house at 3:30. While I wasnt at the park for very long, I did have a good time riding the rides I did. I hadn't been at Kings Island during the summer in a minute, so going when I did was nice. I also got to see Abi and Josh, which was also really cool. This would be the 4th Six Flags park I would visit in August, and it was my second favorite visit of the month.
I've attached some photos from my trip down below if you want to take a look.
