Cedar Point is my home park, and a place like no other. The many summers spent at Cedar Point are always a thrill, and many fond memories have been made here since my first visit in July of 2014. However, all good summers must come to an end, and closing day 2025 was a cold, sunny, and busy closing day.
I would start my Closing day working. I decided I would work the morning shift, so I could get some extra money before the end of the season. I worked from 9-4, and I would have a rather easy day at Redemption Center. Being the Team Lead, I would direct my associates to help prepare the shop for the winter, and we took inventory of specific things, did a DEEP clean of everything, and cleared all the trash and other unneeded things from our location. Before the end of my shift, I would have to do the Souvenir Pickup, and I would hapen to run into Luke and Josh, who were in the park for fun.
After I clocked out for the day, I would meet up with my brother Nathan, and Caroline. We would all head over to Maverick, and we would wait 75 minutes for it. We would make many jokes and what not, while we waited. Caroline and I decided to track the wait time, and it was right on the money for the estimate. Nathan and I got front row, which was a nice way to end the 2025 season.
Caroline would part ways from Nathan and I after Maverick, as she wanted to ride Gatekeeper and see the Shrieks show one more time for the season. Nathan and I went over to ride Steel Vengeance. We had two exit passes that I won, and we wanted to ride it. Of course, with our luck, we would get up to the exit and the ride would go down to add an additional train to the track. This would pay off, though, because we got front row on Steel Vengeance. It was cold, but so worth it as neither of us had a ride on the front in years. It was worth the extra wait.
Our last ride would be Top Thrill 2. Again, we had exit passes because I won them previously, so we didn't have to wait too long. We would walk up to the exit just as the ride reopened from a rollback, so we had a little wait as other people had ADA transfers that require them to go through the exit. We joked going in that we would become frozen popsicles from riding, but weirdly enough TT2 was not nearly as cold as Steel Vengeance or Maverick, but it probably helped we were in row 4, not row 1.
We would wrap up the 2025 season going to Sweet Spot, and purchased some 50% off sweets. I bought him some fudge as a treat, because I thought I would be nice. We walked down the main midway, saying goodbye to America's Roller Coast for the last time until 2026. Nathan said that he liked his 4 hour visit, and he thanked me for taking him up the exit of two rides. While I am sad to see the end of the season, 2026 will be even stronger as we will have Siren's Curse and (hopefully) an even more reliable TT2.
