My Thoughts - May 2026
May 1st, 2026. 11:23 PM
We are now one week away from Cedar Point's opening day for 2026! Work today getting the park ready was an adventure. I got to go help out at CePo Shores getting the cabana furniture moved and prepped for deep cleaning. Other then the cold and rain, it was very fun.
Tomorrow I am doing River Sweep in Cleveland, and I am very excited to do that with Jill. After, I work until 7pm.
It is nice seeing Sandusky begin to wake up from its winter slumber. I have seen more people coming back to work, and the off season work on the Cedar Point Causeway and the new roundabout are done/almost done.

Riversweep 2026 was a success. While it was cold, Jill and I had a great time. it was 44, but it didn't rain, which was nice. I found a metal ring thing while doing the cleanup, and Jill took my picture with it.
After work today, I went to Taco Bell with Caroline, Audrey, and Liam for dinner, and we had a good time. Played Roblox with Caroline, and I get to sleep in tomorrow. Overall, today was a mild success.

My last day at CPSC was busy and slow. Busy as in we did nearly 300 orders, but time crawled. It was interesting knowing that it was my last day probably until the wintertime, but that will be decided when its closer to October.
Yesterday I went to Akron to see Daisy, and we went to see Michael Jackson again. Dasiy thought the movie was good, and was surprised to learn it is only a PT1 of 2. Afterward, we went to Goodyear Metropark and took a long walk. It was nice to catch up again, and we had long discussions about many things. We also went to get icecream at Stricklands.
It has been nice to finally take 2 days off from work. I've been resting up and feel very refreshed. I also have been working on pages for the site, I'll make a subsequent post with links later. 4 days until Cedar Point opens!

Oops, I got busy and forgot to post updates. I would do it at work during my breaks if NEOCities was more mobile friendly.
The days leading up to Cedar Point opening for the 2026 season were mixed with cold and rain, or sun. Friday night Ronan, Abby, Nate, Jill and I went to dinner at Cheekz. It was a good time. While I was nervous for how redemption would operate on opening day, we actually did really well. In fact, Colleen Brady complimented our good work, since we had some of the shortest lines in Area 1, despite the fact we had a lot of people come through our lines.
After work Saturday, my mom came out and we rode Cedar Downs before a thunderstorm came in. We got dinner at the Italian place down the block, and it was really good. I gave her a Mother's Day card, and she left by 7:30.
Sunday I rode Siren's Curse after a slow day, and saw Sheep Detectives with Nate in theaters. It was a really good movie and it made me feel a whole range of feelings so strongly. I might go see it again however I wanna see Michael Jackson a 3rd time.
Monday I hung out with Nate in the morning, and I went to Cedar Point with Caroline and Ronan in the evening, riding TT2 x2, Gemini, Wild Mouse, and Gatekeeper.
Today I am going to finish my laundry, write a page for the site, and go up to the park to ride Millennium Force, Maverick, and Steel Vengeance. Sadly, Magnum is still down :(. Work this week will be easy, since I will not be at Redemption. The last Trivia Night at the bar is Thursday, and Nate and I have a date tomorrow night. I am so happy the park is open again.

Well, I did it again. Got so busy I forgot I had a website for a few days. However the last few days were really fun.
Last Tuesday I got to see the Baie Comaeu sail out of Sandusky Bay from Nate's apartment after they got off work. Pure chance, and it was really neat seeinf a lake freighter sail by.
The rest of the week went by smoothly. Work was easy, except for two minor issues. Friday Apple Pay had an outage and we couldn't take it. This was super problematic as a lot of my purchases were from school kids who only had Apple Pay. I left in the middle of that, since I had stayed til 6:30. Saturday we had a near complete register failure park wide. We managed, but it was awful since we had a huge line.
Sunday, Nate and I went to Cleveland after work before we left for Kings Island Monday morning. We watched the end of the Cavs game with my mom before going to bed.
The day at Kings Island was really good, I will be writing a page about it soon. Daisy, Nate, and I had a wonderful time and we rode 12 rides.
This week my summer classes begin, and I am now officially in my summer co-op. I am excited to finally see everything wake up again. In 2 weeks, I go to Boston, and I am excited to go.

Yesterday after work, Ronan, Caroline, and I went to Cedar Point for 3 hours. We managed to snag 12 rides in that time, which was pretty sweet.
Today, we had a class tour at CPSC and CPSF. It was neat seeing all the stuff they do at the two sports parks, and how different they are. Afterwards, Nate and I went to see the horror movie Obsessed. This movie was something, and I genuinely will never watch it again, because it was too much for me to handle. It felt too real, and I almost walked out during the movie. Afterwards Nate and I hung out for a bit, which was really nice. I ended the day with 3 laps on TT2.
The world is changing a lot around me. My online friends have changed quite a bit, and its becoming a little scary. I know some of my friends are still upset with me over things I did, which is fair. Eventually, I'll figure out a plan to try and mend things, but perhaps it is not possible at this time.

Working Memorial Day weekend wore me out. To summarize, we had terrible winds on friday that shut Gatekeeper literally all day, enough rain to close the park early Saturday, but Sunday and Monday weren't bad, just long and tiring.
The nice thing about CePo closing early Saturday was my supervisors and I got to take the afternoon off. We all decided to go up to the park for an evening, and it was really fun. I'll make a dedicated page for that soon, but for now I will put our picture of us on Rougarou together below.
Nate and I are going to see the Chrusher's toghether tomorrow with my Dad and Steph. We decided to do this after they came to visit Friday night while at dinner at Cheekz. I haven't been to a minor leauge game in ages (since 2023) and I cannot wait to have some good baseball.
Lastly, I can't speak on it much but I have a possible reassignment at work coming up. More will follow soon...

Today is my day off, my only one this week. I don't mind too much, I need the hours for my summer co-op. Nate and I hung out last night, and we watched Pirates 3. Today we had breakfast, watched Top Gun, and now we're doing chores.
Oil prices are beginning to drop again. I've read in the news that the conflict/war/whatever its called might be winding down soon, which would be good. There is a few parks I want to visit this year that I can't if gas keeps being nearly $5/gal. It's leading me to have to make some choices regarding what I do in the coming weeks. Before I go to Boston, Taylor has invited me to their grad party. Thats ~250 miles round trip, or about 1/2-3/4 of a tank depending on traffic. I don't want to cancel that, because I'd like to see my friend and I do have a couple things that need to make their way back to Taylor. But if gas is going to stay so high, I don't know if I can justify such a drive for a 2-3 hour event, which kinda sucks.
Speaking of Boston, I am going there with my Mom, Abhi, and brother in a few weeks. We're going to Six Flags New England, and Canobie Lake Park. I'll also get to see the sights and sounds of Boston while I am there, its not just a park trip. During this trip, I will be riding my 300th roller coaster, which is a milestone that I didn't think I would hit so soon. I started riding coasters in 2014, and it took 5 years to get to 100. It took another 5 to get to 200 while in Spain in 2024. So it taking 2 years to get to 300 is a huge step for me. I haven't quite figured out what should be that special 300, but it is between Superman, Quantum Accelerator, or Gotham City Gauntlet.
Lastly, Big Boy is passing through Ohio soon. I am super excited to see it steam through, since its such a huge steam engine. The largest I have ever seen is NPK 765, and that was when it passed through the CVNP.
